Karen Leigh (Hudson) West

Funeral services for Karen Leigh West will be held 2:00 PM, today, Sunday, July 1, 2012at the Midway Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.
Karen was born on June 17, 1961 in Sulphur, OK to Doyle Eugene & Betty Jean (Tyson) Hudson. She died Thursday, June 28, 2012 in Ardmore at the age of 51 years and 11 days. She and Randal West were united in marriage on Sept. 21, 1988 in Ely, NV.
After high school, Karen continued her education at East Central University where she majored in Criminal Justice. She devoted her life to caring for her family. Being a mother was Karen’s prized achievement. She enjoyed cooking and tending her flowers in her spare time. She was very proud of her Chickasaw Heritage. In previous years, Karen was associated with the Johnson O’Malley Program, the City Mission, as well as the St. Joseph’s Indian School.
Karen is survived by her husband Randy; daughter, Landry Nicole West; son Cade Warrior West; father, Gene Hudson, all of Davis; four sisters, Carol Hudson, Lisa Hudson & Judy Risner, all of Davis, and Becky Brown of Florida; as well as two brothers, Michael Hudson of Davis and Keith Anderson of Tulsa.
Preceding her in death was a son, Creed Wayne West; her mother, Betty Hudson; and step-mother, Floyd Hudson.
