John Blake Mitchell Iii

John was born March 13, 1941 in Oklahoma City, OK to the late John Blake & Francis Mitchell, II. He died Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Sulphur Veteran’s Center, at the age of 74 years and 21 days.

John grew up in the Oklahoma City area where he attended high school. He joined the United States Army in November, 1960. His service to this great nation, included three tours of combat during the Vietnam war. After he was honorably discharged, due to injuries, John returned to the Oklahoma City area. In his spare time, he enjoyed “tinkering” with electronics. John was an avid John Wayne fan, watching his old western movies as often as possible.

Survivors include his daughter, Cindy Emberty & husband Rodney of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren, Lucinda Romera and Richard Casey; as well as, eight great-grandchildren.
