Joe Edd Whitehead

Funeral services for Joe Edd “Hook” Whitehead will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis, with Pastor Billy Staggs officiating.

Joe was born May 21, 1949, in Walters, OK, to the late Berlin Melvin and Lorado (Perryman) Whitehead. He died Sunday, January 30, 2022, in Ardmore, at the age of 72 years, 8 months and 9 days. Joe and the former Ms. Rebecca Ann “Becky” Brumley were united in marriage on November 22, 1968, in Davis.

Joe was a 1967 graduated of Woodland High School. He continued his education at OSU-Tech, earning the status of “Certified Mechanic.” The earlier years of his working career was spent with Jack Webb Construction of Davis and Jones Drilling. He then spent the next 28 years working for the Michelin plant in Ardmore, retiring as a Tire Inspector. Joe was a faithful member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Davis.

Joe was a very proud father and grandfather. Spending time with his kids and grandchildren brought him great happiness. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed riding motorcycles and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Becky; daughter, Jennifer Richardson & husband George of Florida; son, Justin Whitehead of Davis; three grandchildren, Morgan Lanham of Pauls Valley, Hannah White of Florida, and Emalei Henry of Katie; three great-grandchildren, Alice & Jasper Taylor, and Sage Henry; as well as two brothers, Mike “Red” Whitehead & wife Judy of Loco, and Rick “Stick” Whitehead & wife Darlene of Hennepin.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by two brothers, Winford “Wimp” Whitehead and Melvin “Mouse” Whitehead.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, February 1st, from 5-7PM at the funeral home.
