Jimmy David Nanney, known by all as David, was born August 24, 1950, in Wapanucka, OK, to the late Willie Hubert & Margaret Louise (Brincefield) Nanney. He died on Thursday, December 19, 2024, in Davis, at the age of 74.
David grew up in Mill Creek. He joined the United States Army on February 28, 1969. After being injured in an explosion, he received an honorable discharge on March 12, 1971. David's vast working career included bridge construction, farming, mechanicing and building homes. Throughout his life, he resided in several places, including Mill Creek, Wynnewood, Prairie View, Kansas, and Davis.
In his free time, David enjoyed making dream catchers, building birdhouses, and playing pool, at which he was incredibly good.
Survivors include his daughter, Heather Nanney; granddaughter, Lashawna Nanney, both of Oklahoma City; four sisters, Wanda Powell of Chickasha, Shirley Smith of Oklahoma City, Norma Gee of Davis, and Donna Black of Mustang; one brother, Gene Nanney of New Mexico; his girlfriend, Peggy Brown of Allen; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 1:00PM, Friday, December 27, 2024, at Hale's Memorial Chapel, in Davis. Brother Bryan Hetherington will officiate the service.
