Graveside services for Jimmy C. Schultz will be held at 10:00 AM, on Monday, June 27, 2022, at the Green Hill Cemetery, in Davis, with Pastor Lance Whaley officiating.
Jimmy was born on January 26, 1932, in Hennepin, to the late Robert L. and Willie V. (Smith) Schultz. He died on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, in Davis, at the age of 90 years, 4 months and 26 days. Jimmy and the former Ms. Linda Jo Lathum were married on January 8, 1965, in Gainesville, TX.
Jimmy grew up in Hennepin, attending school at Woodland. At the early age of 17, he began working for the Joe Brown Trucking Company in Davis, as a shop hand. His employment with Joe Brown was placed on hold in June of 1953, when Jimmy was drafted into the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Army in June of 1956, Jimmy returned home to Davis, where he continued his employment with Joe Brown, retiring as a truck driver, after 30+ years. He then began driving a truck for J & D Hauling of Ardmore, retiring for the second time, at the age of 72.
Jimmy was a very family-oriented man and cherished spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, every chance he could find. During his retirement years, he assisted his wife Linda, with the operations of the Davis Senior Citizens Center for 10 years, until his failing health forced them both to retire. He greatly enjoyed his time at the senior center, where he played countless games of dominos, and visited with many of his dear friends. Anyone that knew Jimmy, knew he was a major fan of Davis Wolves Football, and rarely missed a game. Jimmy was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Davis.
Survivors include his loving wife, Linda; two daughters, Sandra Garrison, and Shelly Schultz, both of Davis; two sons, Jacky Blankenship of Davis, and Jimmy Schultz of Cleveland, OH; seven grandchildren, Matt Garrison, Gayla Smathers, Dakota Garrison, Jacob Blankenship, Gabe Blankenship, Brandi Chesnik, and Eryn Colasanto; nineteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Nada Gelwick of Tampa, FL.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by one son Steve Blankenship, one grandson Mitchell Garrison, one great granddaughter Camille Garrison, and three brothers Bill Schultz, Virgil Schultz and Edd Massey.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Paul Pullen, Bob Drake, James McClellan, Pete Byrd, Danny Chronister, John Slater, Darrell Hudson, and John Palesano.
