Jewell Lorna Coffey

Jewell Lorna (Combs) Coffey was born on August 12, 1958, in Kingman, Kansas to Virgil and Lorna Combs. She departed from this life on Saturday, January 22, 2022, in Davis, at the age of 63, following a two-year battle with ALS. Jewell married the love of her life, Jimmy “Bo” Coffey, on June 22, 1979. From this blessed union were born four children, Alysha, Alyana, JC, and Amanda.

Jewell enjoyed spending time with her family doing anything outdoors. Whether it was camping, swimming, or tending to her flowers, she enjoyed being outdoors. Jewell loved her children immensely, but once she had grand babies, it gave love a new meaning.

Jewell spent a long part of her life working for Walmart. She enjoyed this time in her life. Getting to meet new people and make new friends. Once transferred to the Walmart Warehouse in Pauls Valley, she enjoyed working with everyone. She was known to wonder up and down the aisles singing random, made-up songs, which usually instigated lots of laughter.

She was a true caregiver by nature. Always putting others health and well-being above her own. She was the rock for her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by three children, Alysha Kennedy & husband Scott of Hennepin, Jimmy “JC” Coffey & wife Stephanie of Ravia, and Amanda Ratchford & husband Casey of Davis; her mother, Lorna Combs of Potsborro, TX; nine grandchildren, Amme Ellen, Clarity Joy, Kaylee Michelle, D’Maree Jaquice, Jaycie Nicole, Jaimon Blayke, Alyana Jewell, Austin Justice, and Hartleigh Jestine; six brothers, David Combs & wife Sharon, Donald Combs, Virgil Combs Jr, Chris Combs & wife Lea, Steve Combs & wife Tammie, and Matt Combs & wife Brenda; one sister, Teresa Dean & husband Joe; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & family friends.

Jewell was preceded in death by the love of her life Jimmy “Bo” Coffey; infant daughter, Alyana Jo; father, Virgil Combs; one brother, Kent Combs; father-in-law, Sam “Mick” Coffey; mother-in-law, Joan Coffey; and in-laws Jestine Albers and Kirby Sellers.

Funeral services will be held 2:00PM, Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at the Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Davis, with Brother Gary Fielding officiating.

Services are “entrusted” to Hale’s Funeral Home of Davis.
