Jerry Don Pope

Jerry Don Pope was born Dec 9, 1947 in Sulphur, OK to the late Leo Levi & Inez Z. (Onstock) Pope. He died Sunday, Oct 14, 2012 in Davis at the age of 64. Jerry and Linda Sue Davis were married on July 28, 1967 in Sherman, TX.

After graduating from Sulphur High School in 1966, Jerry joined the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. He spent 30+ years working for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation as a welder. In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his wife Linda; two daughters, Candice Anderson & husband Donnie and Jalynn Rose & husband Carl, both of Newcastle, OK; one son, Jerry Brandon Pope & wife Jamie of Destin, FL; eight grandchildren, Chazdon Anderson, Lindi, Lily, Kaitlyn & Carlee Rose and Klyer, Peyton & Gage Pope; four sisters, Wanda Brown, Margret Miller, Dorthy Trett & Gloria Brooks; as well as two brothers, Bill Joe & Johnny Pope.

Serving as pallbearers will be Donnie & Chazdon Anderson, Carl Rose, Shawn Tinsley, John Paul Davis and James Pope. Honorary bearers will be Brian & Damon Miller, Donald & Ronald Trett , Bobby Brooks, Ted Keefer and Jimmy Salter.

Viewing and visitation will be held Monday & Tuesday, Oct 15th & 16th at Hales Funeral Home in Davis. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, Oct 17, 2012 at Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Sulphur with interment at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.
