Jerry Dean Downing

Jerry was born October 9, 1924 in Gould, OK to the late Louis R. & Lois Ann (Brown) Jarvis. She died Sunday, January 8, 2017 in Sulphur, at the age of 92.

Jerry spent the earlier years of her life in the Gould, Montague County, TX & Mangum area. After raising her children, she moved to Tulsa, where she worked as an in home caregiver for Mr. and Mrs. Al Musick. Following her retirement from the Musicks, Jerry moved to Davis to be near her son and his family. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, sewing & cooking. Prior to failing health, Jerry attended the First Baptist Church of Davis, where she enjoyed singing in the choir.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Johnson & wife Barbara of Davis and Duane Johnson of Pauls Valley; two daughters, Karen Kaiser & husband Terry of Las Vegas, NV and Barbara Ann Cullins of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren & great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jerry was preceded in death by one son, Gerald Ray Johnson; 15 siblings; husband, Bill Downing; and the father of her children, Harold Johnson.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
