Jason Wade Ward was born June 1, 1977, in Oklahoma City, to the late Emmett Glenn & Pamela Sue (Goeders) Ward. He died on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, in Norman, at the age of 46. Jason and Amy Jean Smith were married on March 6, 2009, in Sulphur.
Jason grew up in Sulphur. He spent 15 years working with the Davis Police Department reserves, and 20+ years working in security for the Chickasaw Nation. At the time of his death, he held the position of Security Manager over area casinos. In addition to his career in security, Jason was also a licensed instructor, teaching concealed carry classes for many years.
Jason was an artistic individual and enjoyed making jewelry and doing carpentry work. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping and fishing. Although he seemed to be a quiet man, he loved pestering people and pulling jokes on his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Amy; daughter, Chloe of the home; son, Adrian Hernandez of Ardmore; three brothers, Johnny Ward of Sulphur, David Ward of Davis, and Randy Barbie of Texas; his aunt, Beverly Goeders of Sulphur; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Jason's life will be held 2:00PM, Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church, in Sulphur, with Pastor Tom Hefley officiating.
