James Forrest Woodell was born October 17, 1956, in Ada, OK, to the late Kenneth & Anna Belle (Burkes) Woodell. He died on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 66 years.
James grew up in Sulphur. At an early age, he found an interest in welding. This interest led him to a 50-year career in the welding industry, with much of that time being employed with CD Brown Construction in Sulphur. In addition to welding, James also had a passion for horses and enjoyed wrangling cattle with area farmers and ranchers. His hobbies included playing pool, golfing, and dancing.
Survivors include daughter, Lindsay Rivers of Walnut Ridge, AR; several grandchildren including Cash and Jameson; two sisters, Gayla Bingham & husband Tom, and Chris Trussell, both of Sulphur; four brothers, Rick Woodell & wife Ann of Pryor, Rodney Woodell of Sulphur, Tony Woodell & wife Sheila of Linsday, and Blake Woodell of Sulphur; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A viewing/visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday morning, August 19, 2023, from 9:00AM until 11:00 AM, at Hale’s Funeral Home in Sulphur.
Services were entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.
