Memorial services for Jack Duty will be held 2:00PM, Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Davis, with Pastors Steve Harshaw and Don Griffin officiating.
Jack was born November 20, 1942 in Stroud, OK to the late Odis Madison & Blanche Mae (Nowell) Duty. He died Friday, March 1, 2019 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 76. Jack and the former Ms. Charlene Ozment were married on October 22, 1965 in Alameda, CA.
Jack grew up in Rufe, OK. In 1964, he joined the United States Navy, serving in Vietnam. Following an honorable discharge in December 1967, he returned and began working in maintenance for Haliburton Services and later Texas Instruments. Following his retirement from Texas Instruments in 2012, Jack spent much of his time fishing, tooling leather and following his grandchildren, as they played sports.
Survivors include his wife Charlene; one daughter, Laura Duty of Elmore City; one son, Charles Odis “Odie” Duty & wife Sue of Conway, AR; three grandchildren, Caitlin Duty, Lucas Duty and Clyde Simmons; as well as one sister, Pat Smith of Valliant, OK.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Lou Sukovaty and Betty Siebel; and five brothers, Morris, Gerald, Kenneth, Ronnie and James Duty.
