Services for Helen Virginia (Jenkins) Lindell will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Sulphur with Pastor Willard McCartney Jr. officiating. Interment will be held at the Chute Cemetery, near St. Charles, Arkansas.
Helen was born June 27, 1935 in Van, Arkansas to the late George W. and Ethel (Poston) Jenkins. She died Wednesday, March 10, 2020 in Sulphur, at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 11 days.
Helen grew up in DeWitt. Following high school, she he moved from Arkansas to California, where she spent 32 years working as a machinist for Litton Industries in Lake Tahoe. In 1978, after retiring from Litton, she moved to Oklahoma, making her home in Mill Creek. Once she was settled in Mill Creek, she went to work for Halliburton Services in Davis, retiring a second time when the Davis plant closed. In her spare time, Helen enjoyed doing crafts.
Survivors include one daughter, Janet Kathleen “Katie” Evanes of Ardmore; niece, Gail Hudson; as well as three great-nieces.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her three siblings, infant sister, Easter Lee Jenkins, brother George Harold Jenkins and most recently, her sister Mary McDonald, on February 19, 2020.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Alzheimer’s
Associations.
