Graveside services for Helen Katherine Staggs will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, June 22, 2020 at the Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, with Pastors Mark Smith and Alan McCoy officiating.
Helen was born June 8, 1936 in the Banner Community, to the late Allen E. Vinson and Ella (Williams) Vinson-Selby. She entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 18, 2020 in Chickasha, at the age of 84 years and 10 days. Helen and Raymond Howard Staggs were married on April 21, 1953 in Oklahoma City. From this union were born three children, Connie, Steven and Stanley.
Helen grew up in the Dibble and Dare communities, graduating from Dibble High School, Class of 1953. She spent 23 years working for the Dibble Public School System. While employed with the school, she spent several years working in the cafeteria, prior to becoming a teacher’s assistant, which she dearly loved. Helen was a very fun loving lady. She enjoyed playing card games with her family and winning those games often by means of cheating. She was known to aggravate her family and friends, just to see them laugh. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, working puzzles and visiting with her grandchildren and neighbors. Helen was a devoted member of the Banner Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond; one daughter, Connie F. Morris; two sons, Steven Ray Staggs & wife Robin and Stanley Don Staggs & wife Rhonda, all of Lindsay; six grandchildren, Brandon Conner & wife Jessica, Amy Keck & husband Casey, Stephanie Russell & husband Riley, Josh Staggs & wife Tami, Tony Staggs and Leslie Staggs; seven great-grandchildren, Jordan L. Clemmer & husband Zach, Briar M. Conner, Laney P. Conner, Eli G. Conner, Hunter K. Russell, Hallee R. Russell, and Axel S. Jones; one great-great granddaughter, Chloe R. Clemmer; one brother, Doyle Vinson &wife Pat of Noble; two sisters-in-law, Georgia May Vinson and Saundra Vinson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Ava Jade Welsh; and two brothers, Bennie and Dick E. Vinson.
