Harry Dean Huggins
Harry Dean Huggins was born September 4, 1941, in Davis, to the late Jewel David & Ruby Viola (Payne) Huggins. He died on Saturday, March 2, 2024, in Ardmore, at the age of 82. Harry and the former Juanita Fay Gilman were married on April 9, 1976, in Sulphur. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2020.
The earliest years of Harry's life were spent living in Ringling, Davis, and Claypool. After graduating from Ringling High School, Class of 1959, he began a life of hard work. Throughout his working career, Harry held numerous jobs, often working two and three jobs at once. His career included working in sales for the National Life Insurance Company, Montgomery Wards, Michelin Tire Plant, Arbuckle Wilderness, as well as owning and operating Huggins & Sons Insulation, just to name a few. After retiring from Michelin in 2001, Harry and Juanita owned and operated the Davis General Store, specializing in antiques and collectibles.
Harry was never one to set idle. He was always doing something to occupy his time. He could most often be found piddling in his shop or searching for antiques.
Survivors include his children, Deanna Huggins & husband Jimmy Sharbutt, James Huggins, and Mark Huggins, Brent Gee & wife Amanda, Cavin Gee & wife Norma, and Rhonda Pfenning & husband Kyle; grandchildren including, Jimmy Lee Gee, Blair Jones, Blake Gee, Jacob Whitley, and Josh Gee; great-grandchildren including, Brook Gee, Ana Warren, Dylon Gee, and Lane Gee; great-great granddaughter, Salem Warren; one brother, John David Huggins & wife Maudie; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as his caretaker, Teresa Baxter.
In addition to his parents and wife, Harry was preceded in death by four siblings, Robert Huggins, Troy Huggins, Patsy Bradshaw, and Tony Huggins.
Graveside services will be held 2:00PM, Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at the Green Hill Cemetery, in Davis, with the Reverend Claud Williams officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Huggins, James Huggins, Brent Gee, Jimmy Sharbutt, Jimmy Gee, and David Huggins.
Services are entrusted to Hale's Funeral Home of Davis.
