Gregory Dean Bolding

Graveside funeral services for Gregory Dean Bolding will be held 11:00AM, Friday, June 2, 2017 at Green Hill Cemetery in Davis with Brother Thomas J. Thompson officiating.

Life began for Greg on May 14, 1958 at 12:35 AM, to Howard A. and Patricia J. (Durham) Bolding, with the assistance of Dr. David M. Eggenberg. He passed from this life on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in Sulphur, at the age of 59 years and 17 days.

Greg grew up in Davis, attending Davis Public Schools from first through the twelfth grades, loving to ride Mr. Elmer Cherry’s bus, until he was of the age to get his motorcycle license. From that point on, he began to grow, with Coaches Mickey Hoy, Coach Shaffer and Coach Jerry Don Raper, molding him into a young man, who loved football. His senior year, 1976, Greg served as captain of the football team several times. He was elected by his teammates to be the Football King that year, with his lifelong friend, Karen (Eggenberg) Kapella as the Queen. They hold the record for the longest kiss embrace for a king and queen.

After graduation, Greg began his career as a truck driver, beginning with Stillwater Milling Co of Davis. His final drive ended on May 8, 2017, driving from Houston, TX and parking his beautiful, personally owned Peterbuilt at home. Greg was extremely proud of his truck. Although truck driving was his career, Greg also assisted with family farming and ranching. He spent countless hours cutting and baling hay, enjoying the solitude of the tractor. He also enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife Audrey; mother, Pat Bolding of Davis; two children, Tiffany Pittman of San Antonio, TX and Brandon Bolding of Sulphur; one step-daughter, Schrea Arrington of Sulphur; one brother, Mark Bolding & wife Leona of Oakpoint, TX; three grandchildren, Alexxis, Ashton and Ava; three step-grandchildren, McKayla, Jon and Kelby; as well as one nephew, Josh Bolding.

Greg was preceded in death by his father, Howard, on March 8, 2017.
