Flora Lou Kirk

Flora was born April 30, 1937 in Mangum, OK to Alex & Beulah (Cunningtubby) Brassfield. She passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015 in Davis, at the age of 78 years 2 months and 16 days. Flora and Ernest Kirk were married on June 1, 1955 in Davis.

Flora grew up in Davis, where she graduated from Davis High School in 1955. She was very devoted to her family, always trying to make their lives better. Although Ernest & her children were her world, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren made her life complete. Flora enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, cooking and traveling. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, as well as a very proud member of the Chickasaw Nation.

Although her family meant the world to her; Flora’s personal relationship with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ was the most important thing in her life. She was a charter member of the Chickasaw Trail Baptist Church. She served in the church for many years, in anyway she possibly could. Flora was always there to help care for others and spread the love of Christ. She will be greatly missed by her family and church family.

Survivors include her husband Ernest; two daughters, Patricia Pereira & husband Raymond and Sonya Wilson, both of Davis; two sons, Mike Kirk & wife Sherrie of Grand Saline, TX and Steven Kirk & wife Donna of Davis; two sisters, Linda McGaha of Morrison, OK and Patsy O’Shields of Granbury, TX; one brother, Jerry Brassfield of Pauls Valley; son-in-law Bobby Meador of Davis; as well as, 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 15 nieces & nephews.

Flora was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Karen Meador in 1998; and one brother, Earl Brassfield in 2014.
