Service for Evelynn Marie Staggs will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 25, 2013 at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Davis with Pastor Vernon Carr officiating. A private burial will be held at the Green Hill Cemetery.

Evelynn was born on May 15, 1937 in Jay, OK. She died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in Davis, at the age of 75 years 11 months and 8 days. Evelynn and Frank Staggs were married on May 31, 1961 in Dougherty, OK.

Evelynn was a graduate of Davis High School. During her working career, she was employed at both Stromberg Carlson and Halliburton Services as a machinist, prior to retirement. She devoted her life to providing a good home for her family. Although she was very proud of her sons, when the grandchildren came, the sons came second. Evelynn loved her family unconditionally, and supported each of them. Within her family, she was referred to as “Granny”. Evelynn was the kind of individual that said what she felt and stood by her word. Although she was short in stature, she stood tall in her faith and her love for her family.

Evelynn was quite the social type. She enjoyed going to the coffee shop to hear the latest “local news”, having lunch and visiting with friends at the senior citizen center and on the telephone. She also enjoyed gardening and landscaping, as you could tell by the appearance of her own yard. Evelynn was an avid Davis Wolves fan and a diehard OU fan. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Survivors include her husband, Frank; two sons, Kevin Staggs & wife Rhonda and Billy Staggs & wife Angie, all of Davis; five grandchildren, Tyner Staggs & his fiancé, Maddy, Rylie Farmer & husband Justin, David Staggs & fiancé Taylor, Jordan Staggs and Abbie Staggs; as well as, one great granddaughter, Reece Farmer.

Evelynn was preceded in death by her parents, Drake and Mary Tidwell
