Funeral services for Estie Marie Digby will be held 2:00PM, Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Davis with Pastor Willard McCartney, JR officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery.

Marie was born July 12, 1933 in Honey Grove, TX to the late William Lloyd & Ethel Lucille (Kinchen) Foster. She died Saturday, July 20, 2019 in Elk City, OK, at the age of 86 years and 8 days. Marie and Billy Ray Digby were married on October 17, 1952 in Davis. He preceded her in death on August 31, 2017.

Marie grew up in Morris, OK, graduating from Morris High School. Following their marriage in 1952, she and Billy made their home in Oklahoma City, where she spent many years working as a waitress in several restaurants and diners, including the Sleepy Hollow Diner and the 89er’s Inn. It was while working at Sleepy Hollow that she met Dan “Hoss” Blocker from the TV show, Bonanza. Later the couple moved back to the Davis area, where she worked as a waitress and hostess at the Cedarvelle Garden’s and the Jollyville Café. In July 2016, due to failing health, she and Billy moved to Elk City to be closer to family. Marie cherished her family and loved spending quality time with each of them, especially her grand and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed staying in contact with her lifelong friend and high school classmate, Modene Jackson.

Survivors include two sons, Harold Anthony “Tony” Digby & wife Faye and Garold Keith Digby & wife Jan, both of Elk City; one daughter, Carol Diane Bradley & friend Paul Smith of Sulphur; grandchildren, Karla Marie Jackson & husband Jim, Shannon Barnett & husband Bart, Tamara Slife & husband Roger, Tonya Loyd & husband Jeremy, Michelle Nuncio & husband Smiley, April Plunket, Jacob Todd Bradley & wife Misty, Dayson Fox & wife Jodi, Dallas Williams & wife Susie, Denney Dodson & wife Jenna and Michelle Burns & husband Frankie Archer; several great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Fink of Wanette, OK; one brother, Eulis Foster and wife Phylis of Davis; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by one grandson, Jeremy Ray Digby; son-in-law, Bill Bradley; and one brother, Arthur L. Foster and wife LaWanda.


Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Jackson, Bart Barnet, Arthur Don Foster, Chris Foster Smiley Nuncio and Joseph Wellner.
