Janelle was born October 24, 1945, in Cold Springs, OK to the late Thomas Wesley "Doc" & Helen Faye (Powell) Webber. She died Friday, January 31, 2025, in Wynnewood, at the age of 79 years, 3 month & 7 days. Janelle and Dwight Payne were united in marriage on September 19, 1964, in Davis. To this union were born two daughters, Lesa and Deshawn.
Janelle grew up in Davis, graduating from Davis High School, Class of 1963. She, along with her mother Helen, owned and operated Webber's Insurance / the Davis Tag agency, which began in 1951. In 1981, Janelle took over the insurance part of the business and operated it until she retired in 2006.
Janelle, being very much like her mother, was a "take charge" individual. She was one that never minced words. She said what she thought and went on. Janelle was always active throughout the community with civic functions, especially the Davis B&PW club; always helping to improve the Davis community.
As a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, Janelle cherished the title of "Nanney Nell".
She was always busy following her grands as they participated in school events and their extracurricular activities. In her free time, Janelle enjoyed watching murder mystery shows, traveling and occasionally trying her luck at area casinos.
Survivors include one daughter, Deshawn (Payne) Hasler & husband Joe of Nixa, MO; two granddaughters, Brittani Deshawn (Day) Martinez & husband Devin of Wynnewood and Maddison Janelle Payne & husband Carlos of Wichita, KS; four great-grandchildren, Parker, Maggie, Deagen, and Declan Dwight; brother, Santford Webber & wife Holly, of Davis; niece, Cindy (Webber) Hines & husband Tim; nephews, Wes Webber, Chad Williams & wife Samantha and Brandon Williams & wife Tiffany; as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Janelle was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight on April 25, 2009; her daughter, Lesa (Payne) Bradley on February 21, 1999; and her two sisters, Paula Sue (Webber) Williams and Gloria Jeanne Webber.
