Emma Beth (Britt) Wilson

  Emma Beth (Britt) Wilson was born December 1, 1938, in Sulphur, to the late Cecil R. & Mattie F. (Castleberry) Britt. She passed from this life on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in Sulphur, at the age of 85. Emma and George F. Wilson, Jr were married on November 18, 1954, in Sulphur. He preceded her in death on August 26, 2006. 

   Emma, better known by family & friends as “Tiny”, grew up in the Oak Grove area, attending the Oak Grove school. After she and George married, she devoted her life to raising her family. Once her kids were grown, she then spent several years working at Britt’s Grocery and later, Monjay’s IGA grocery store in Sulphur. 

   Emma was a very selfless individual. She always put the need and wants of others before her own. For many years she was active with the Oak Grove Church where her husband George pastored. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, reading, and spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. 

    Survivors include her two sons, Bud Wilson & wife Robbie and Jimmy Wilson & wife Sharon, both of Roff; two brothers, Jim Britt and Larry Britt; two sisters, Faye Rankin and Mae Rankin; six grandchildren, Trisha Moore, Russtina Davis, Brandon Wilson, Garon Sheppard, Josh Wilson, and Nicole Wilson; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  

   In addition to her parents and husband, Emma was preceded in death by two daughters, Darlene Copeland, and Ann Wilson; four brothers, AJ Britt, Lonny Britt, Ed Britt, and Alfred Britt; and two sisters, Ruby Odom, and Louise Price. 

  Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00PM, Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at the Dolberg Cemetery, in Roff, with Darrell Moore officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Wilson, Brandon Wilson, Garon Sheppard, Gavin Wilson, Mason Wilson, & Vicente Yanez.  Viewing will be held Monday, January 29th, from 9:00AM until 7:00PM at Hale's Funeral Home in Sulphur.
