Elmer Dean Sisson was born June 26, 1976, in Durant, OK to Charles Allen and Ann Marie (Davis) Sisson. He died Tuesday, March 15, 2022, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 45 years, 8 months and 17 days. Elmer and Debra Lynn Smith were married on April 21, 2007, in Norman, OK.
Elmer grew up on Lake Texoma, spending much of his time in the Enos and Buncombe Creek areas. He attended school in Kingston, prior to graduating from Union City High School in 1994. Following high school, he attended Redlands Community College in El Reno, prior to attending Murray State College in Tishomingo. Elmer had spent the past 16+ years working for TELCO of Sulphur, where he had obtained management status. He attended the Sulphur United Methodist Church.
In his spare time, Elmer enjoyed fishing, chasing his granddaughter around and taking trips with family and friends. He was an avid fan of OU Football. Although he was not considered a gamer, Elmer occasionally played the video game “Boom Beach.” He became close to the group of guys that he played with and throughout the last few months of his illness, the group rallied around Elmer to offer support and prayers.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie; daughter, Aubrey Hurt; granddaughter, Skylin Raye, all of Davis; and his grandfather, Stan Davis & wife Elvi of Ardmore; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Those preceding Elmer in death include his mother Ann, on February 17, 2021; father, Charles on July 29, 2021; and his brother, Roy Lee Sisson on September 21, 2021; grandmother, Pat Davis; grandmother, Norma Davis; grandfather, Charles Sisson; and step-grandmother, Rose Sisson.
Funeral services will be held 2:00PM, Friday, March 18, 2022, at the Sulphur United Methodist Church, with Pastor Jim Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.
