Elizabeth Ann Gastineau was born July 15, 1960 to Ben and Karen Yvonne (Leming) Gastineau in Sulphur, Oklahoma. She died Friday, May 25, 2012 in Midwest City, Oklahoma at the age of 51 years, 10 months and 10 days.
Elizabeth graduated from Mill Creek High School in 1977. She played basketball at Oklahoma Baptist University and earned a bachelor’s degree in history at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.
She was a devoted daughter and mother. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by grandfathers, Charles Grover Leming and J. D. Gastineau; step-father, Pete Grissom; and baby brother, Benny.
She is survived by her mother, Karen Grissom of Sulphur; father, Ben Gastineau of Ravia, OK; daughters, Sara Hicks and fiancé, Patrick, and Kara Sawler all of Midwest City, OK; sons, James Hicks and wife, Star, of Ada, OK, Phillip Hicks of Oklahoma City, OK, Benjamin Hicks of Denver, CO and Charles Gastineau of Midwest City, OK; grandmothers, Mabel Leming and Oneta Gastineau; brothers, James Gastineau and wife, Gaye, of Ada, OK and Joe Gastineau and wife, Sue, of Milburn, OK; sister, Alisa Mabry and husband, David, of Ada, OK; aunt, Theresa; grandson, James Logan Hicks; as well as, John Sawler.
