Edgar was born on Aug 19, 1950 in Oak Grove to Cecil and Mattie (Castleberry) Britt. He died Sunday, Nov 17, 2013 in Sulphur, at the age of 63 years, 2 months and 28 days. Edgar and Reba Hertha Grissom were married on Feb 17, 1970 in Sulphur.

Edgar was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He lived his life simple, while serving his Lord and Savior first, his family second and everyone and everything thirdly. Edgar retired from OG&E after working thirty-two years as an auxiliary operator. He was a member of the Oak Grove Community Church.

Survivors include his wife, Reba; two daughters, Christy Owens and husband Chris of Ada and Annie Britt and companion Jimmy Russell of Sulphur; five grandchildren, Shelby Owens & fiancé, Trent Goodman, Kailee Owens, Tarah Owens, Hannah Russell and Harlie Russell; five brothers, A. J., Alfred, Jim, Lonnie and Larry Britt; three sisters, Faye Rankin, Mae Rankin and Tiny Wilson, as well as a host of niece & nephews.

Edgar was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Louise Price and Ruby Odom.

Serving as pallbearers will be Waylan Todd, R. C. Elliott, Shannon Britt, Jimmy Britt, Lonnie Britt, Jr. and Cecil Larry Britt, Jr. Honorary bearers will be his nieces and nephews.
