Eddie Harold Copeland



Ed was born Jan 20, 1934 in Coweta, OK to Jack Olany & Florence Elzona (McFarland) Copeland. He died Thursday, May 29, 2014 in Sulphur, at the age of 80 years 4 months and 9 days. Ed and Patricia Marlene Green were married on Jun 2, 1959 in Tulsa.

Ed joined the US Army in Nov 1956 and served until he was honorably discharged in Nov 1958. While serving his country, he served with the Army Rangers and Special Forces for Judo at Ft. Benning, GA. Ed owned and operated Copeland’s Garage in Sulphur for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, boating, being outdoors, tending his flowers and spending time with his family.


Survivors include his wife Marlene; three daughters, Cindy Mitchell of Sulphur, Debbie Akins of Gainesville, TX and Karen Copeland of Pauls Valley; son, Eddie Ray Copeland of Boley, OK; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Ann Copeland-Bean of Jenks, OK; two brothers, Orville and Jackie Copeland, both of Muskogee; and brother-in-law, Donald Ray Green of Paris, TX.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; great-grandson, Jayse Ryan Hughes; two brothers Ron and Billy Copeland; as well as one sister, Juanita Minney.
