Funeral services for Dusty Ray Johnson were held 10:00 AM, Friday, Nov 4, 2016 at Midway Hill Baptist Church, in Sulphur with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr. and Pastor Eddie Dye officiating. Interment followed at the Hart Cemetery in Vanoss.
Dusty was born on Nov 11, 1980 in Ardmore, OK to Calvin Eugene and Sheri Louise (Dilbeck) Johnson. He died Friday, Oct 28, 2016 in Sulphur, at the age of 35 years 11 month and 17 days.
Dusty was raised in the Sulphur area attending school in Sulphur, MillCreek and graduating from Vanoss in 1999. He worked as a welder for 13 years building water towers. Dusty enjoyed spending his vacations traveling the country. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and tinkering with his 1978 Camero. In 2011, Dusty was the winner of the City of Springs Burnout Contest. He loved his family.
Survivors include his mother, Sheri Johnson of Sulphur; father, Calvin Johnson of Stratford; one sister, Stephanie Rogers & husband Jason of Davis; one brother, Montana Johnson of Stratford; maternal grandmother, Carol Dilbeck of Sulphur; paternal grandmother, Paula Lewis of Sulphur; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins, as well as many friends.
Dusty was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Curtis Dilbeck; paternal grandfather, Larry Ray Johnson; one aunt, Lynne Taylor and one cousin, Ethan Barnes.
Serving as pallbearers were Curtis Dilbeck, Phillip Mize, Jeremiah Johnson, Joshua Thompson, Ricky Thompson and Flint Barnes.
