Dow was born on Jul 18, 1935 in Wirt, OK to the late Gilbert Dow and Ethel Ann (Knutson) Byrd. He died Monday, Dec 16, 2013 in Sulphur, at the age of 78 years 4 months and 28 days. Dow and Rheba Eileen Thornton were married on Jul 9, 1955.

Dow was a 1953 graduate of Dundee High School. He spent fifty years working in the oilfield for Burlington Resources. Dow was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his loving wife Rheba; son, Kevin Byrd of Bethany, OK; daughter, Nancy Riley of Austin, TX; four grandchildren, Amanda Nichols & husband Brandon of Austin, Rocky J. Riley & wife Callie of Ft Worth, TX, and Elizabeth Byrd & Ian Byrd, both of Oklahoma City; three great-granddaughters, Kayla Grasso, Noelle Nichols and Alice Riley; sister, Mona Sue Elliott of Bakersfield, CA; as well as numerous nieces & nephews.

Dow was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
