Funeral services for Dortha J. Gordon were held 11:00 AM, Saturday, Jan 26, 2013 at Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Davis, with Pastor Luke Panter officiating. Interment followed at the Green Hill cemetery.

Dortha was born Dec 4, 1922, in the Oak Ridge Community west of Davis, to the late Henry & Pearl (Been) Williams. She died Wednesday, Jan 23, 2013 in Sulphur, at the age of 90 years 1 month and 19 days. Dortha and Elery A. Gordon were married Oct 25, 1941 in Davis. He preceded her in death on Jul 19, 1996. Others preceding her in death include a brother, Monroe Williams and grandson, Kenny Heskett.

Dortha graduated from Woodland High School. She spent her life in devotion to God, her family and her friends. Dortha loved visiting with her family and friends, rather it be in person or spending hours on the telephone. She was an avid reader. In earlier years, she enjoyed gardening. Dortha was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Davis.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Thomas & husband George and Judy Williams & husband Kenneth, all of Davis; three grandchildren, Edward Thomas & Donald Thomas, both of Davis and Kelley Williams of Springer; as well as, 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Edward Thomas, Aaron Thomas, Jordon Whitaker, Rodney Roady, James Luckinbill and Dustan Whatley.
