Funeral services for Dorsey Gale Wells will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, Nov 9, 2019 at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Sulphur with Reverend Michael Brown and Brother Tim Moore officiating. Interment will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.
Dorsey was born November 16, 1930 in Pontotoc County, OK to the late Lee Vernon & Molly Ivy Irene (Pitmon) Wells. He died Tuesday, November 5, 2019, in Sulphur, just 11 days shy of his 89th birthday. Dorsey and the former Ms. Margaret Louise Ashford were married on September 24, 1949 in Chickasha. She preceded him in death on October 30, 2013.
Dorsey grew up in the Sulphur/Mill Creek areas. The earlier years of his life were spent operating dairy farms for Murray State College in Tishomingo, Parnell’s Dairy in Chickasha and later Howe’s Dairy in Nebo. After leaving the dairy business, Dorsey spent several years working as a heavy equipment operator. In addition to always working a full-time job, he owned and operated his own farm. Unlike others, Dorsey did not have many hobbies, as he spent every spare moment away from work, being with his family. He was very much a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with family, as that was the greatest joy of his life.
