Dorothy Virginia Masters

Funeral services for Dorothy Virginia (Mabry) Masters will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, August 30, 2019 at the Pathway United Methodist Church in Davis with Brother Thomas J. Thompson and Pastor Steve Harshaw officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.

Dorothy was born August 14, 1930 on the John Mabry Farms, west of Davis, to the late John Thomas & Rhoda (Russell) Mabry. She died Tuesday, August 27, 2019, in Davis at the age of 89 years and 13 days. Dorothy and Loy C. Masters were married on December 18, 1953 in Pauls Valley, OK. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1995.

Dorothy grew up in Davis, graduating from Davis High School, Class of 1948. She and Loy owned and operated Master’s Oil Company from 1954 until her death. In earlier years, Dorothy was very active with several civic organizations in Davis. She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church of Davis. In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing, spending time with her family and reading.

She is survived by one son, Mark Masters of Davis; as well as numerous extended family members.

In addition to her parents & husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by one son, John Masters; daughter-in-law, Susan Masters; son-in-law, Jeff Yeargin; as well as eight siblings, Thomas Mabry, Eugene Mabry, Carl Mabry, Buddy Mabry, Juanita Burris, Marie Anderson, Thelma Smith and Winnie Robbins.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Bell, Blake Lynch, David Kimbro, Brian Kimbro, Mike Lee, Paul Busby, Billy Weldon and Bruce Reynolds.
