Doris Kathryn Meador

Doris was born October 24, 1928 in Groom, TX to Boyd Willard and Vera (Phillips) McCaskill. She died Thursday, March 20, 2014, in Sulphur, OK, at the age of 85 due to complications from pneumonia. She lived her early life in Hennepin and graduated high school in Texhoma, OK. Doris and Robert Owen “Bo” Meador were married May 22, 1947 in Gainesville, Texas. They made their home in Davis for the entire 64 years of their marriage and were blessed with four children, Carol Ann, Judy Kaye, Barbara Lynne, and Robert Kent.

Doris was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In her later years she doted on her 9 great-grandchildren whom she loved very much. Her main life’s work was making a loving home for her family. She was also very involved with Bo’s photography business, helping with the production of school photos, as well as wedding photos, rodeos, and many other events. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi for many years. She loved her flower garden, reading and crossword puzzles. Doris attended Central Church and East Main Church of Christ.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband Bo; two children, Carol Ann and Kent; sisters Dorthy Jones, Beth Wiggin and LaVeta McCormick; and one brother Jerry McCaskill.

Survivors include two daughters Judy Sanders and husband Gary and Barbara Meador, both of Davis; grandchildren Jake Sanders and wife Lisa of Wylie, TX, Joel Sanders and wife Nicole of Rockwall, TX, Amy Torrez and husband Ricky of Fort Carson, CO and Andy Hill and wife Michelle of Davis; great-grandchildren Garron, Kara, Kyle, and Luke Sanders, Christopher York, Katelynne and Jordyn Torrez, Jaci Arnold and Matthew Hill; and one brother John McCaskill.

Serving as pallbearers were Gary, Jake, and Joel Sanders, Andy Hill, Amy and Ricky Torrez, and Mike Taylor.
