Dora Louise Chadwick



Louise was born Nov 26, 1925 in Sulphur to the late Earve C. & Dora J. (Nantz) Higgins. She died Thursday, Oct 23, 2014 in Sulphur, at the age of 88 years 10 months and 27 days. Louise and J.C. Chadwick were married on Oct 28, 1942 in Sulphur, and shared 72 blessed years of marriage.

Louise was a lifelong resident of Sulphur, where she attended school. After she and J.C. married, they made their home on Chickasaw Trail and remained there until her death. Of all things in her life, the Lord was the most important, followed by her family. Louise spent her life caring and loving her family. Although she cherished J.C. and her four children unconditionally, her nine grandchildren & nine great-grandchildren made her life complete. In her spare time, Louise enjoyed working puzzles and canning fruits & vegetables. Louise was a devoted member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Sulphur. Her children refer to her as never wanting much and “satisfied” with life.

Survivors include her husband J.C.; two daughters, Barbara Pirkle & husband Joe of Davis and Judy Wells & husband Jerold of Sulphur; two sons, Richard Chadwick & wife Jane and Don Chadwick & wife Judy, both of Davis; nine grandchildren, Sean McNeil, Machele McNeil, Chuck Wells, Amy (Wells) Norman, Ashley (Wells) Box, Kelli (Chadwick) Brassfield, Jodi (Chadwick) Coppenbarger, Taylor Chadwick and Jordan Chadwick; nine great-grandchildren, Jag, Jett, Presley, Morgan, Tyler, Audrey, Gage, Paige & Evelyn; one sister, Nola Smith of Sulphur; as well as numerous nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by four brothers, five sisters and one grandson, Justin Dow Chadwick.
