Services for Donna Gayle Gillispie will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Midway Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr. officiating.
Donna was born on Feb 28, 1945 in Waurika, OK to Woodrow Wilson and Luella (Darnell) Gillispie. She died Saturday, Apr 21, 2012 in Davis at the age of 67 years 1 month & 23 days.
Donna, a lifelong resident of Davis, was a 1963 graduate of Davis High School. She worked some 30 plus years as a stock clerk for the Ardmore Veteran’s Center, retiring in 2007. Donna loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoyed working outdoors, woodworking and remodeling her home. According to family, “you never knew what to expect when you came home. Mom may have totally repainted your bedroom.”
Donna is survived by her daughter, Melissa Hall & husband Wiley of Hydro; son, Woody Hobbs & wife Jamie of Davis; three grandchildren, Misty Overton & husband Peter, and Brendon & Allie Hobbs; three great-grandchildren, Chris, Abigayle and Lydia; as well a brother, Charles Gillispie of Davis.
Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Lawanda June Guinn; two children Timothy Sanders and Marcella Conway, as well as an infant child.
