Donald Ray Blagg

Graveside services for Donald Ray “Don” Blagg will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 28, 2023, at the Oaklawn Cemetery, in Sulphur, with Pastor Bill Leveridge officiating.

Don was born March 5, 1934, in Sulphur, to the late Earl & Mable (VanOrden) Blagg. He died on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the age of 89. Don and the former Miss Mary Fran White were united in marriage on March 8, 1968, in Sulphur.

Don was a lifelong resident of Sulphur, and a member of the Crossway First Baptist Church. Following high school, he joined the United States Army, being stationed in Germany for 18 months. Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, he returned home and became employed with Sulphur Veteran’s Center. After retiring in 1996 from the Veteran’s Center, Don spent the remainder of his active years working on his ranch, tending to his cattle herd, and working to improve the land. He loved outdoor activities.

Don is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Fran; one sister, Earlene Chandler of Sulphur; brother-in-law, Glenn White & wife Julie, also of Sulphur; sister-in-law, Dr. Linda Crumb of Chickasha; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by one brother, Leon Blagg, and one sister, Kaye Young.

Services are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.
