Services for Donald Ray Crumb, better known by family and friends as "Don" or "Donny", will be held at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the Crossway First Baptist Church Chapel. Pastor Bill Leveridge will officiate the service.
Don was born October 13, 1959, in Sulphur, to Jimmy Ray and Linda Delene (White) Crumb. He passed unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in Chickasha.
Growing up, Don and his family resided in Coalgate and Tishomingo. After graduating from Tishomingo High School, Class of 1977, he continued his education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where he played football. It was at this time in his life that Don decided college was not for him. After leaving Southeastern, he moved to Ardmore and began working. He then decided to go back to college, attending USAO where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry in 1986, prior to briefly working on his Master's. He then made his home in several places including Frederick, Minnesota, Tulsa, Greensburg, PA, and Akron, OH. From Akron, Don moved to Chickasha where he remained until his death.
With his new degree in hand, Don began his career as a high school science teacher, prior to working as a chemical engineer. He helped compound a new rubber seal used for car windows during that time. Don would later leave that position to become an operations manager at Triangle Chemical Company. He ended his career with the Chickasaw Nation, working in the procurement department.
Although Don was known to always be working, he did have several hobbies that he enjoyed during his free time. Those hobbies included wood crafting, playing golf and fishing, as well as playing his electric guitar and listening to music. In younger years, Don was a bicycle enthusiast and enjoyed riding in club competitions.
Survivors include his beloved mother, Linda, of Chickasha; his sister, Anita Uhles of Maysville; aunt, Mary Fran Blagg of Sulphur; uncle, Glenn White & wife Julie of Sulphur; nephew, Bradley Uhles & wife Kacee; two nieces, Julie and Jamie Uhles; great-nephew, Hunter Uhles; as well as cousins, Zachary, Landon and Keith White.
Don was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Ray Crumb; his maternal grandparents, Howard J., and Evelyn E. White; and his paternal grandmother, Faye Higgins.
