Delvin Eugene Wadlow was born January 12, 1944, in Stratford, OK, to the late Delbert Lee and Lola Myrtle (Graham) Wadlow. He died Saturday, April 2, 2022, in Ardmore, at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 21 days.
Delvin grew up in the Ada area. Throughout his life, his gypsy soul allowed him to make his home in several communities including Silverton, TX, Plainview, TX, Meeker, OK, Canyon, TX, and Tishomingo, OK, prior to settling in Sulphur. He spent 35+ years working as truck driver, as well as a mechanic.
Delvin was a motorcycle enthusiast. He loved spending time enjoying the open air as he traveled about on his motorcycles. He loved old hotrods and spent countless hours building and rebuilding them. Delvin was an avid fan of boxing. If a boxing match were on television, he would find it and watch with intensity. He also enjoyed going to the local coffee shops, where he and Vickie would visit with friends.
Survivors include three children; daughter, Debbie Dobbins & husband Dwayne of Tecumseh, daughter, Rita Beals & husband Robert of Amarillo, TX, and son, Chris Wadlow & wife Kristi of Silverton, TX; his beloved companion, Vickie Slawson of Springer; four grandchildren, Gavin Dobbins & wife Kaylee, Harley Wadlow, Corbin Wadlow, and Cody Beals; and two great-grandchildren, Damon and Emery Dobbins.
In addition to his parents, Delvin was preceded in death by one grandson, Connor Wadlow: and one sister, Wilma Ozment.
Services will be held 2:00PM, Thursday, April 7, 2022, at the Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Sulphur. A private family burial will be held at the McGee Cemetery in Stratford.
Services are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.
