David Wayne Drennan

Services for David Wayne Drennan will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, March 19, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Davis, with Brother Claud Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.

David, better known as Wayne, was born December 10, 1951 in Ardmore, OK to the late Clifford L. “Sonny” and Winnie Lucille “Susie” (Wells) Drennan. He passed on Saturday, March 13, 2021 in Norman, at the age of 69 years, 3 months and 3 days.

Wayne grew up west of Davis, attending Woodland School before transferring to Davis, where he graduated, Class of 1970. He later earned his Associates Degree from Murray State College. He spent several years working for OG&E. He spent the rest of his years as a co-owner and operator of the Drennan Ranch with his father Sonny, west of Davis.

Wayne loved the outdoors. Whether it was fishing, hunting or working around the farm, he was most happy being outdoors in nature. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading and writing poems and songs. Wayne loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Lyndsi Jae Drennan; sons, Stacy Drennan & wife Corrie and Colton Wayne Drennan & wife Aubrey; six grandchildren, Kyrstin, Camron, Brody, Kylie, Sarah and baby Hazel, who is expected in June; as well as a host of friends.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his son, Cody Drennan on January 14, 1998 and brother Phil in 2020.
