Services for Davelyn Minette (Meeks) Kennedy will be held 2:00PM, Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Faith Center Church in Sulphur with Pastors Craig Lemley and Manny Cantu officiating.
Davelyn was born August 13, 1957 in Shawnee, OK to William Charles and Mary Janice (Hearrell) Meeks-Foyer. She died Saturday, July 6, 2019 in Sulphur, at the age of 61 years, 10 months and 23 days.
Davelyn grew up in Murray County, graduating from Sulphur High School. For many years, she and her previous husband, Larry Kennedy, owned and operated Babe’s Hot Tamales in Davis. Davelyn was an avid fan of the outdoors. She enjoyed going to the lake, fishing, camping with family and friends, tending her garden and going to the beach. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed spending time with her family. Davelyn had a soft spot in her heart for all animals. She was a member of the Faith Center Church in Sulphur.
Survivors include two sisters, Delinda Meeks of Florida and Danielle Foyer & fiancé Josh Handley of California; one brother, David Meeks & fiancé Amy Allen of Sulphur; nephew, Jeff Meeks & wife Tanna of Sulphur; niece, Taylor Smith of California; two great-nieces, Jaycee & Haylee Meeks of Sulphur, also Shirley Meeks and Samantha Cunnish; as well as numerous cousins and a host of friends.
Davelyn was preceded in death by her mother, Janice Foyer; and her father, Charles Meeks.
