Memorial services for Darrell Joe Grady will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Thistle Creek Farms, located at 5696 Pat Drive, northeast of Davis, OK. Pastor Dick Terry will officiate the service.
Darrell, better known by many as "Joe", was born June 24, 1948, in Mangum, OK, to the late Joe Cass & Audra Dee (Hogan) Grady. He passed from this life on Saturday, February 17, 2024, in Davis, at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 24 days.
Joe grew up in Willow, OK prior to moving to Granite, OK, at the age of ten. As a young man, after school he worked hauling hay, working wheat harvests and in the rock quarries. In 1967, at the age of 19, Joe joined the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War. During his enlistment, he was stationed in Germany and Okinawa.
Following his service to our country, Joe spent 20+ years in the oilfield industry, working in Texas and Oklahoma. Later in life he worked in maintenance for the Maffery's, taking care of rental properties. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing his guitar, singing, drawing, and fishing. He also enjoyed telling jokes and playing penny anti poker.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Woods & husband David of Davis, and Victoria Cano of Altus, OK; son, Cass Grady & wife Stephanie of San Antonio, TX; sister, Sue Everheart & husband Jim of Terre Haute, IN; brother, Eddie Grady & wife Sharon of Midwest City, OK; as well as 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by six sisters, Wynona Graham, Joyce Hayes, Helen Blair, Mary Lou Cross, Gaye Crump, and Faye Russell; and three brothers, Cecil Grady, Paul Grady, and Carroll Grady
Services are entrusted to Hale's Funeral Home, Sulphur, OK.
