Coleman Neil Gibson
Coleman Neil Gibson was born Feb 24, 1932 to Connie Neily & Willie Louise (Stephens) Gibson in Dougherty, OK. He passed from this life on Jan 31, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore, OK, at the age of 81 years 11 months & 7 days.
Neil is survived by Norma (Evans) Gibson, with a union that began 60 years ago in Silver City, NM; four children, Bruce Gibson & wife Judy of Davis, Terryl A. Rayburn & husband Larry of Fittstown, Christine Yount-Jones & husband Ray of Loveland, CO and Cole Gibson & wife Mary of Sulphur; grandchildren, Blake Gibson & wife Dana, Breanne Beratto & husband Bud, Larryn and Haley Rayburn, Grant Yount & wife Bri, Abby & Reed Yount, Lanissa Pullen & husband Nathan, Deziree Beasely & husband Hank; great-grandchildren, Trinity Dawn, Mikki, Grayson, Nathan, Aubree, Caiden, Elijah, Trey and Ava; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Neil was a member of the Midway Hill Baptist Church. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a past Master of Corinthian Lodge #18 F&AM of Morenci, AZ and the Sulphur-Davis Elks Lodge. After completing a four year apprenticeship he was a Journeyman Electrician at the Morenci, AZ, Phelps Dodge Copper Mining Co for 17 years. He retired from the Uniroyal/Michelin Tire Co of Ardmore, where he was the 252nd employee hired. Neil was passionate about donating blood. Throughout his lifetime, he proudly donated 11 gallons of blood.
Neil was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ralph & Bruce Gibson sister, Christine Howell; son-in- law, Mike Yount and daughter- in-law, Linda Gibson.
A time of visitation and viewing will be held Monday, Feb 3, 2014 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
