Funeral services for Cody Branan Canipe will be held 10 AM, Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Davis with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr officiating. Interment will be held at 3:00PM, that afternoon at the Hobart Rose Cemetery in Hobart, OK.
Cody was born August 19, 1984 in Hobart to Forest Nelson & Lori Lynn (Hollins) Canipe, III. He died Thursday, January 3, 2019 in Sulphur, at the age of 34.
Cody grew up in Hobart, prior to moving to Davis at the age of 14. He was a 2002 graduate of Davis High School. Following high school, Cody attended the Southern Oklahoma Vo-Tech where he studied welding. He spent several years working as a butcher and stockman for Sooner Foods of Davis.
Cody was very passionate about cooking. He enjoyed working with both new and old recipes. His sisters often referred to him as “Super Foody”. Cody loved riding and working on ATV’s and dirt bikes. He was a very technological savvy individual. Cody also loved music and had a very extensive music collection.
Survivors include two sons, Braydn Branan Canipe and Rivurs Cole Canipe; two sisters, MacKenzie Canipe and Michala Canipe, all of Davis; grandparents, Don & Joyce Ray of Fernley, NV and Kenneth Hollins of Independence, MO; niece, Cloey Lynn Digby; four aunts, Rhonda Canipe, Lavonna Canipe, Carla Canipe Wheeler and Linda Tonahill; three uncles, Donald Ray, Kenneth Hollins, Jr and Ian Baldwin; mother of his children, Birdie Jean Jones; as well as many cousins and friends.
Cody was preceded in death by his mother Lori Lynn Canipe; father, Forest Nelson Canipe, III; grandfather, Forest Nelson Canipe, II; and grandmother, Carolyn Sue Baldwin.
