Clifford Eugene Cops, Jr. left this earthly home to go to his Heavenly home on December 7, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born the middle son of three brothers on December 20, 1951 to Clifford Sr. & Beulah in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
To know Cliff is to love Cliff. He graduated a proud Capital Hill Redskin, class of 1970. He joined the Air Force Reserves right after high school, where he led crews to load and offload military cargo on DC-3's. While in the Reserves he also worked for the City of Oklahoma City reading water meters before joining the Oklahoma City Fire Department in 1973. He would go onto serve the citizens for 25 years before retiring in 1998. He loved his time with his fire department brothers, and we all heard the stories he had to tell! With each story he told (some of them repeatedly) one could know his pride for working with Oklahoma City's finest!
Shortly after his retirement he met Kym, who would become the love of his life. They spent the next 22 years creating a wonderful life together. In 2010 Cliff reconnected with his mother's side of the family in New Orleans and spent a few holidays with them in their neck of the woods and they up here as well. These memories will be cherished forever. In 2014 Cliff and Kym purchased a small lake place at Cedar Blue in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Many, many wonderful memories were made there and he quickly made friends with all he encountered. He sat on the Board of Directors at Cedar Blue for 3 years before deciding he would rather spend more time fishing. During this time, he also helped his electrician brother, Barry, upgrade electrical services for the residents of Cedar Blue. His fishing crew brothers at Cedar Blue made him so happy and they had quite a few out of town lake trips together! His last trip with them was in October of this year spent at Broken Bow. Sadly, a short two weeks later, would become his final "Pine Creek fishing with family". Unfortunately, neither trip netted any big catches, but like he told everyone at the end of his phone conversations..."HAVE FUN"
Cliff loved his family and friends BIG and would always look over his shoulder to see how they were doing!
Cliff was proceeded in death by his wonderful parents, Clifford Sr. & Beulah of OKC and sister-in-law Dorothy of Ringold, OK. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 22 years, Kym, sons Alan & wife Jana of Harrah, OK, Chad & wife Janet of Beavercreek, OH, bonus daughter Ashlee & partner Joseph of Edmond, OK, grandsons Riley & Jacob, granddaughters Taylor, Delainey, Heather & Hailey, brothers Tommy of Ringold, OK and Alvin & wife Terry of Newcastle, OK, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
