Christina Leann Gibson

Christina Leann Gibson, 39, better known as Leann, was born on February 14, 1985, in Ardmore, to Lavonda Ann Gibson and Ricky Dale Hamilton. She died on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, in Oklahoma City, following a year and a half battle with cancer. Leann faced her battle head on and fought courageously until the very end. Although many prayed for the miracle of an earthly healing, God’s plan was different. He gave to her the greatest healing of all. Her struggle has ended and she is now at peace in the arms of Christ.

 Leann, grew up in Sulphur. After graduating from Sulphur High School, Class of 2003, she continued her education at Murray State College, where she earned an Associate’s Degree. She then attended East Central University and Southeastern State University, earning a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology, as well as a Master’s Degree in Indian Education. Leann was employed with the Davis Public School System from 2018-2023, where she worked as a Para Paraprofessional. She absolutely loved being a part of the Davis School System. Leann gained great joy working with students that needed a little extra love and care. She truly left a positive impact on her students, as well as her beloved co-workers. 

 Leann’s greatest accomplishment in life was being a mother. Her love and devotion to her two sons were unwavering. Whether it was watching them play sports or play in the band, Leann was always their biggest cheerleader. She was a loyal fan of the Davis Wolves, as well as the OU Sooners.

 Leann always wore a smile on her face. She was the type of person that brightened the days of those around her. She was known for her kind soul and helping others, but she could also be a little on the ornery side at times. 

 Survivors include her two sons, Logan Blake Gibson and Landon Cooper Gibson; her mother, Lavonda Gibson (Jesse), all of Davis; her father, Ricky Hamilton (Sherri) of Ravia; four brothers, Ryan Davis Gibson, Aaron Boyd Hamilton (Chas), James Andris Hamilton, and Adam Blake Hamilton; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; a host of dear friends; and last but certainly not least, her beloved dog, “Lady Bug”. 

 Leann was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Verdo & Lois Gibson and her paternal grandparents, Oretha Ledford and Andris Hamilton.

 Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, September 20, 2024, at the Pathway Church, in Davis, with the Reverend Bryan Hetherington officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery, in Davis.
