Carolyn Jo (Wiles) Hessney was born November 4, 1945, in Sulphur, OK, to the late James Leonard and Wanda (Davis) Wiles. She died on Thursday, October 3, 2024, in Sulphur, at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 29 days. She and Boyd "Duffy" Hessney were united in marriage on December 3, 1977. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2010.

Carolyn grew up in Dougherty, graduating from Sulphur High School. After she and Duffy married, they made their home in Florida for many years, where she worked for Aero Dynamics. Following the death of her husband, Carolyn moved to Sulphur, where she spent several years working as an operator for the Chickasaw Telephone Company.

In her spare time, Carolyn enjoyed fishing and hunting, often making bigger catches and kills than others in her group. In her later years, due to failing health, she mostly enjoyed playing Mahjong games on her phone.

Survivors include her sister, Sandra Walker, of Sulphur; her brother, Mike Wiles of Dougherty; sisters-in-law, Janis Wiles of Sulphur, and Shirley Wiles of Dougherty; stepson, Steve Hessney of Arizona; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Carolyn was preceded in death by five brothers, Woody, David, Rick, Bob, and Tom Wiles; sister-in-law, Vickey (Barnes)Wiles; brother-in-law, Rex Walker; and great nephew, Blake Lee Wiles.

Private graveside services will be held at the Dougherty Cemetery.
