Services for Carolyn Ann “Momma Carol” Ervin were held Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the Gilfield Baptist Church in Davis with Rev. Fred Johnson officiating.

Carolyn was born June 22, 1961 in Oklahoma City to the Olen Jean Nero, Sr. and Virgie Mae Ervin. She passed from this life on Tuesday, Aug 14, 2012 at her home in Davis. She was 51 years 1 month and 22 days old.

Carolyn grew up in the Oklahoma City area and graduated from Douglas High School. She worked as a caregiver at the Southern Oklahoma Resource Center in Pauls Valley prior to retiring with 25+ years of service. Carolyn was quite the people person. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, traveling, gardening and most importantly, watching CSI and Law & Order on TV.

Carolyn was known far and wide for her good cooking, especially her famous Mexican Casseroles. She had what her family referred to as “a mad love” for her dog, Fancy. Carolyn loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Survivors include her husband Roy Smith; son Stanley Ross of Davis and LaKeisha Ervin of Oklahoma City; mother, Virgie Holmes of Del City; two grandchildren, Lauren & Micah; two sisters, Carla Woodfork and Denetta Nero; three brothers, Olen Nero, Jr., Lonnie Ervin and Carl Edward Nero.

She was preceded in death by her father Olen “Sonny” Nero, Sr. and one brother Dwight Dwayne Ervin.
