Carl Lee Brooks

Carl Lee Brooks was born November 18, 1953, in Dougherty, OK, to the late Alfred Namon & Effie Bernice (Haney) Brooks. He died Monday, January 29, 2024, in Sulphur, at the age of 70.

Carl grew up in Dougherty, attending elementary school, prior to attending high school in Sulphur. For most of his adult life, he worked with his father doing handyman work around Dougherty. He also spent several years cooking in area restaurants.

Like most of his family, Carl had a passion for music. He enjoyed singing with his family and was always excited to sing at the yearly Dougherty Street Dance.

Survivors include his son, Carl Ray Brooks of Sulphur; daughter, Shelia Phipps of Washington, OK; one grandson, Wesson; sister, Margaret Beaver; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Brooks, and Roberta Davis, and one brother, Alfred Ray Brooks.

Graveside services will be held 11:00AM, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Dougherty Cemetery, with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr officiating.
