Bobby James Dale was born September 3, 1938, in Santa Anna, TX, to the late Axtheniox Eugene and Pearl Margret (Harris) Dale. He died on Saturday, November 23, 2024, in Sulphur, at the age 86.
As a native Texan, Bobby and his family made their home in several cities including Fort Worth, Hot Springs, Ark, Coleman, TX, Duncan, OK and Spur, TX. After graduating from Coleman High School, he and JoAnn Womack married on June 6, 1960, in Ft. Worth, TX. She preceded him in death on November 8, 2009. During the earlier years of their marriage, Bobby served in the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge on September 30, 1967.
In April of 2014, Bobby met Joyce (Atchley) Doggett, and together they spent the final years of his life living in the Sulphur/Dougherty areas. They enjoyed several years of traveling in their motor home. Bobby spent several years working as a Foster Grandfather for the Chickasaw Head Start in Sulphur, as well as for the Duncan Public School Systems. Most recent, he worked in maintenance at the Cedar Blue RV Park, south of Sulphur.
Bobby enjoyed working with his hands. He had great talent when it came to working on small engines. He loved his family and cherished spending time with each of them.
Survivors include his devoted companion, Joyce Doggett; three daughters, Tonya Mitchell of Malvern, AR, Melinda Terry of Benton, AR and Amea Dale of Merryville, LA; eight grandchildren, Tasha McKinney, Brandon Terry, Jeremey Terry & wife Kayla, Tyler Terry & wife Julianna, Ryool Andrey, Selina Andrey, Tamera Sales, and Michael Sales; numerous great-grandchildren; three sisters, Naomi Wilson, Juanita Davis, and Sue Ann Sales; as well a numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bobby was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Haley and one brother, Tommy Dale & wife Shirley.
Memorial services will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the Dougherty Baptist Church with Pastors Alan McCoy and Willard McCartney, Jr officiating. A graveside inurnment service will take place that afternoon at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery, in Duncan, OK
Services are entrusted to Hale's Funeral Home of Davis.
