He attended grade school in Bristow, Oklahoma but made many new and life-long friends after moving to Stigler, Oklahoma in 1966.
Bobby had a lust for life and enjoyed playing bass drum in the high school band and bass guitar in his rock band, The Daze and Nites. He also liked being a lifeguard at the Arrowhead pool, riding his motorcycle there with his hair blowing in the breeze. He was always interested in the arts, and was voted the “Most Talented” his senior year at Stigler High School.
His love for art took him to Southeastern State University in Durant, where he earned bachelor’s degrees in Art and Psychology. While at SOSU he made many enduring friendships, including his “brother” Mark Ambler and others in the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity.
After earning his degree, Bobby became an art teacher in Hugo, Oklahoma. It was there he met his future wife, Amanda. They had a fun existence and ultimately moved to Norman then Oklahoma City. In 1995 they were blessed with a wonderful son, Bobby III. He has grown into an outstanding young man and his father was extremely proud of him.
His dedication to teaching pushed him to earn a Master’s of Education degree from Central State University, in Edmond Oklahoma.
Bobby lived life on his own terms. Through many trials, tribulations and illnesses, he never lost his passion for art and all things human. His love for friends and family is ever enduring.
As tough as times were for him, Bobby always prayed for others and never saw himself as needing extra attention. His love for Christ allowed him to approach the world with a smile on his face and a never give up attitude.
