Graveside services for Betty Ruth Spicer-Pickens will be held 10:00AM, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.
Betty was born November 21, 1929 in Davis to the late Spurgeon DeWhitt and Lula Belle (Gibson) Field. She died Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 91. She and Lyndal Harris “Bill” Spicer were married on January 5, 1962 in Davis. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2003. She later married Farrel James Pickens, who also preceded her in death.
Betty grew up in Davis, prior to moving to Palisade, CO. Following her high school graduation from Palisade, she attended East Central University, majoring in business. After college, Betty spent many years working at Thorn Chevrolet in Duncan. Once she and Bill married, she was a stay-at- home mom, as well as kept books for the family farm. After she and Bill sold the farm in 1985, she spent several years working for Dr. William King in medical records. Upon Dr. King’s retirement, Betty began working as a secretary for the Murray County EMS, retiring in 2011.
Survivors include one son, James Spicer & wife Carrie of Sulphur.
