Betty Lou (Cannon) Warner was born March 8, 1931 in Marietta, OK to the late George Andrew & Mary LouVena (Lyons) Cannon, Jr. She died Thursday, November 29, 2018 in Sulphur, at the age of 87 years 8 months and 26 days.
Betty grew up in Gene Autry, graduating from Gene Autry High School in May 1951. Following high school, she worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone, in the Ardmore office. On January 7, 1953, Betty and Lesley Andrew “Junior” Warner, Jr were married in Ardmore. From this union came two daughter, Leslie Joanne and Sharon Lynne.
The family moved from Gene Autry to Dougherty, where Betty worked as a cafeteria cook for the Dougherty School from 1960 until 1968. They later moved from Dougherty to Davis, where Betty worked several jobs including, Womack’s Dairy Freeze, Wackers, Artic Locker Plant, Davis School Cafeteria and the Davis Senior Citizens Center. Following the death of her husband in March, 2013, Betty made her home at the Artesian Nursing Home in Sulphur, where she remained until her death. Betty will forever be remembered as a very gentle, kindhearted lady, who loved her family and friends immensely.
Survivors include her two daughters, Joanne Vernon & husband Stanley and Sharon Oakley & husband Mark, both of Davis; four grandchildren, Erin Lee & husband Jeff, Devyn Butts & husband Brad, Kim Bristow & husband Casey and Josh Oakley; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler & Kylie Butts, Kelly Lee, Kayden, Taegan & Aubrey Oakley, Kye Miles and Logan Bristow; brother-in-law, Andy Warner & wife Charlene; two sisters-in-law, Maxine Warner and Carolyn Cannon; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmie and Weldon Cannon.
