Services for Betty Lou (Saunders) Wilson will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, Jan 12, 2016 at Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Davis with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr. officiating.

Betty was born Sept 6, 1944 in Sulphur to the late Charles & Ettner Mae (Duncan) Saunders. She died Friday, Jan 8, 2016 in Davis, at the age 71 years, 4 months & 2 days. Betty and the late Robert David Wilson were married on Oct 1, 1966 in Carson City, NV. He preceded her in death on Apr 30, 2010.

Betty grew up in Dougherty where she attended school. For 40 years she and Robert owned and operated a franchise of Kirby Vacuum Cleaners. They spent 23 years of their business in Richwood, TX and the last 17 years in Norman, OK, prior to retiring in 2000. In 2005, Betty and Robert moved to Davis to be near family and enjoy their retirement. She was an avid gardener, spending countless hours tending to her flowers. Betty also enjoyed working with stained glass, fishing & traveling; as well as an occasional trip the casino.

Survivors include two daughters, Chantel Roady of Davis and Tiffany Bellott of New Iberia, LA; one son Anthony Crittenden of Clute, TX; eight grandchildren, Cody & Corey Crittenden of Angleton, TX, Caleb Shirtum of Davis, Cole Shirtum of Angleton, TX, Trae Roady of Davis, McKenzie Flynn & Dakota Flynn of New Iberia, LA and Bill Hensley of McAlester, OK; five sisters, Mary White of Arkansas, Lona Edwards of Dougherty, Jeannie Clelland of Davis, Linda Spears of Lexington, OK and Mildred Allen of Sulphur.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene West & Pasty Garland; as well as five brothers, Bo, Orval, Creed, Harvey& John Saunders.
